Over time Sage withdraws official support for older products so they can focus resources on their latest software offerings. The most recent being Sage 200c Professional Version 2017, available now for new sales and for existing customers to upgrade. Though Century will continue to support your business to the best of our ability and with the resources available to us, older software versions will no longer receive any technical or legislative updates. The most recent example of how this can cause an issue for those on older software came in February 2018. HMRC discontinued it’s online VAT submissions gateway and developed a new gateway. As such, versions of Sage 200 below 2017 can no longer submit their VAT to HMRC directly through their program, they must submit figures manually or upgrade to the new version.
Sage Line 100, Sage MMS and older Sage 200 Versions before 2011 have already been unsupported by Sage and have not received legislative updates for some years now.
Sage 200 Extra 2011 proved to be a very popular upgrade at the time, we are working with our clients on this version and below to stage their upgrades to Sage 200c 2017. Mainstream support has now been withdrawn in April 2018.
Sage 200 Version 2013 and 2013 R2 will reach unsupported status towards at the end of 2018.
Century strongly advise anyone using the above software versions to contact us to book your low cost upgrade to the latest version.
If you would like to identify which version you are using, once logged in to Sage 200, use the Help menu (or Cog button in more modern versions) to select About Sage 200. A version build number such as ‘7.00.44’ is shown. Look at the first number i.e. 7, and compare to this table below.

Making Tax Digital (MTD) – From April 2019
Most businesses submit their VAT returns by manually typing it in through the current HMRC gateway. From April 2019 you won’t be able to do this and must send your submission through your accounting software. With Sage 200c 2017, you can apply to join the MTD pilot now, helping your business get ahead and be prepared for the mandatory changes which come into play.
Existing Sage 200 customers will need to upgrade their older versions to the latest version Sage 200c 2017 before April 2019 to be MTD compliant.
Do you know when SAGE withdrew its support for the SAGE 50 Accounts 2011 software?
Hi Emma. I believe Sage 50 Accounts 2011 reached its end of life in January 2015. At that time Sage would have stopped supporting. Please give us a call if you need any assistance upgrading to later software on 01675 430 128. 🙂
